Linda Britton Goddard is a longtime resident of Frederick, Maryland and it is near there in Woodsboro, Maryland that she lives and maintains her studio.
"I have loved painting, drawing and all things art for as long as I can remember. As a child, I spent countless hours pouring over art books and copying from them. Art school was not an option for me but, even as I was raising my family, I squeezed in as many art classes as possible−adult-ed, community college, workshops by local artists−whatever I could find. I collected and studied numerous art books and still find that to be a favorite pastime. I painted whenever I could find the time and where ever I could find a place to set up in my busy and crowded household! Now that my family is grown, I paint full-time and have painted professionally for fifteen years.
I particularly enjoy painting portraits and especially love children’s portraiture. I am captivated by their charm and joy of life and count it a blessing to work with them. I aim for a painting that, while beautiful in and of itself, will convey the God given beauty of each child.
I also love to paint flowers and often use "subjects" from my own garden. I find the myriad of textures and colors that the garden offers up to be challenging, but fun.
I have done many landscapes of farms and their inhabitants−human and animal! My Woodsboro studio, which I named Pine Woods Studio for the pines that surround it, is smack in the middle of beautiful farmland. Endless opportunities!
I teach art for a local homeschool co-op and also offer children’s art classes in my studio. I love being a part of opening up the world of art for children; watching them learn and gain confidence in their abilities is hugely rewarding."
Linda is an award winning portrait artist, and is a member of the Portrait Society of America.
